The Department of Religious Education provides undergraduate-level instruction on the characteristics of religious education, its curriculum, methods, historical development, and its psychological, sociological, and philosophical foundations. In particular, students who aim to become teachers of the Religious Culture and Ethics course in secondary education are taught general and specific teaching methods so that they can teach this subject in harmony with other courses offered at the secondary level.

Moreover, taking into account the explanations of educational science, emphasis is placed on the methods of teaching to secondary school students the doctrinal, devotional, and individual and social values of religion, which are examined in the specialized field courses of our faculty.

On the other hand, by providing general knowledge on issues related to non-formal religious education, the department also contributes to meeting the country’s need for well-educated religious officials with higher education qualifications.
